I live in a location where the temp routinely goes below zero in the winter. I have this on my porch & the neighbor cats are loving they can get water in the winter. Does a great job even keeping can cat food from freezing.
I have a feral cat that I have been feeding for years. Every winter is a stressful time for me because if I miss his coming and going the food and water freezes and he doesn't eat (not to mention the waste of constantly throwing out frozen food). My husband found this bowl and I bought it.
First let me say that it is easy to set up, just plug it in!
Had it down to -25C and the water did not freeze in the bowl.
The unit Is light weight. We use it for two outdoor cats that seem to chase it eating throughout the day.
